Shoe Size Converter
ShoeSizeguide.com converts shoe sizes between US, UK, EU and CM systems using your actual foot length in millimetres — the one measurement every system agrees on. Unlike generic charts, we layer in brand- and model-specific fit notes (does it run small?) and show where each number comes from, so you can choose a better starting size with the right caveats before you buy.

How do I convert US shoe size to EU?
Add 31 to your US men's size to get the EU size (US 9 = EU 40–41). For women, add 30.5 (US 8 = EU 38.5–39). These formulas follow the Brannock device standard where each size is ⅓ inch (8.47 mm) apart. For the closest conversion, measure your foot in millimetres and use our US to EU converter — the conversion is deterministic from foot length, not a lookup table.
Do Nike shoes run small?
Many Nike shoes feel about half a size small, especially narrow performance or lifestyle lasts. If you are between sizes, start by checking the model notes before going half a size up. The Air Force 1 is the exception: it often fits true to size. Nike's narrow toe box amplifies the small feel, so wide-footed buyers should pay attention to the specific model. See the full Nike size chart for model-by-model notes.
What is the difference between men's and women's shoe sizes?
Women's US shoe sizes run 1.5 sizes larger than men's at the same foot length (a US Women's 9 ≈ US Men's 7.5). The underlying foot length in millimetres is identical — only the label changes. EU and UK sizes are not gendered: EU 40 means the same foot length regardless of gender. Use our men's to women's converter for label-based cross-gender conversions.
How do I measure my foot size at home?
Trace your foot on paper in the evening (feet swell during the day), mark the heel and the longest toe, and measure the distance in millimetres. That number is your foot length — the direct input to every size system. Measure both feet and use the larger one. A full step-by-step guide is at how to measure your foot.
What shoe size should I buy if I'm between sizes?
Start with width and the specific model, not a universal rule. If toe length is short, the larger size is usually the safer starting point; if the shoe is already long but pinches at the ball of the foot, look for a wide width instead. The standard fit check: with the shoe on, you should have roughly a thumb's width (about 10–12 mm) of space between your longest toe and the end of the shoe.
Are UK and EU shoe sizes the same?
No. UK sizes use the Barleycorn (⅓ inch) system starting at a different zero point than US sizes. EU sizes use the Paris point (⅔ cm = 6.67 mm). UK 9 ≈ EU 43, but the relationship is not constant across the full range — it shifts by about half a Paris point at larger sizes. Use our shoe size converter for any specific number.
